I have been installing child safety seats since 2006. I have been a member of the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada since 2013 and an instructor since 2016 – certified to train new technicians. I am also special needs trained, having travelled to the US to take the specialized Safe Travel for All Children course in 2017.
I started Kids In Cars because I knew there was an absence in our community of qualified, accessible professionals to help with car seat installations. There is a lot of out-dated advice floating around. I remain current on new seats, recalls, technology and more to make sure children have the safest ride possible in your vehicle.
As an instructor, I have taught courses in BC and Alberta and my students have included law enforcement officers, health care professionals, retail employees, firefighters, social services professionals, and many enthusiastic volunteers.
I sit on the board of directors of the Child Passenger Safety Association of Canada. I also advocate for improvements to BC’s occupant restraint laws and volunteer with RCMP on a number of initiatives. I am an RCMP volunteer with Oceanside Community Safety Volunteers.
